Dear Hiring Team,

I'm a DevOps/SRE and platform engineer who loves building boringly-reliable systems — the highest compliment in infrastructure. I'm currently seeking my next role, ideally one where reliability, automation, and calm, well-communicated engineering are valued as much as shipping fast.

Most recently, as a DevOps Engineer at TSI, I owned reliability and delivery across cloud-native systems — rebuilding CI/CD for 15+ microservices into a single trunk-based deployment pipeline spanning four GCP projects, with security and quality gates baked in. The result was a major reduction in deployment time (from half/full days down to ~13 minutes for a full rollout), while improving consistency, auditability, and confidence in production releases. Since then, I've been running my own practice — designing and operating a production-grade homelab (Proxmox, Kubernetes, Ceph) and directing multi-agent AI engineering workflows — while actively looking for my next role.

A few ways I tend to bring immediate value to a new team:

  • Infrastructure Management & Zero-Downtime Change — I've shipped and maintained production systems that require predictable operations, and I've built VM appliances and repeatable deployment processes designed to reduce drift and eliminate "snowflake servers."
  • Automation & DevOps Enablement — I'm deeply experienced in CI/CD and release engineering, building pipelines that engineers actually trust and that leadership can depend on for safe scaling.
  • Monitoring, Incident Response, and Reliability Engineering — I've implemented real-time availability monitoring and runbook-driven operations, and I'm comfortable diagnosing production-impacting issues under pressure while keeping stakeholders informed.
  • Security & IAM/SSO/MFA — I've launched MFA across cloud vendors, enforced SSO, and reduced access risk through tighter IAM posture — treating identity as a production dependency, not an IT afterthought.
  • Web Platform Experience (including WordPress) — I've operated and secured WordPress environments for mission-driven organizations, including DDoS remediation and WAF tuning, and performance-minded operations for public-facing endpoints.

I thrive in remote-first environments and tend to operate with a "calm systems thinker" mindset: focus on reliability, communicate early, automate what's repeatable, and keep complexity from creeping into places where it doesn't belong.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. I'd welcome the opportunity to talk about how my infrastructure, automation, and reliability background could support your team.

Sincerely,

Jacob Nollette
