Executive Impact Profile

Over 8+ years building and operating production infrastructure — on a broader technology background spanning web, systems, and cloud work — I've repeatedly been the engineer a team hands its hardest infrastructure and delivery problems to: modernizing CI/CD for a cloud-native SaaS company, taking enterprise tooling from zero to production, recovering a production storage cluster with zero data loss, and now directing multi-agent AI engineering workflows in production. The throughline across TSI, North Shore Automation, LuminFire, and my own independently operated practice is the same: turn slow, manual, high-risk delivery into fast, secure, self-service systems — in a way the rest of the team can trust and extend.

Impact Areas

Platform & Delivery Engineering

At TSI, I owned CI/CD and platform engineering across four GCP projects for a cloud-native SaaS company. I rebuilt CI/CD for 15+ microservices with GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Docker, and Bash — consolidating 15 discrete pipelines into a single trunk-based pipeline with a 13-minute end-to-end rollout, a 96% reduction in deployment time. I designed Jenkins shared-library pipelines with containerized, parameterized stages and built a Go CLI that gives every engineer a standardized, reproducible local development shell that mirrors CI exactly.

At North Shore Automation, I built tooling and CI for a containerized appliance product, provisioned the AWS environments that hosted it with Terraform, and co-led the migration of the full CI/CD estate from GitLab to GitHub Actions. At LuminFire, I built a unified automation layer that consolidated fleet maintenance across three heterogeneous hosting platforms, migrated the company's full WordPress portfolio from Bitbucket Cloud to self-hosted GitLab, and built blue-green deployment infrastructure on AWS EC2.

Security & Risk Reduction

I build governance into the platform rather than layering it on afterward. At TSI, I added JFrog X-Ray and SonarQube SAST gates that block deployment on critical findings, administered IAM permissions across multiple cloud accounts, and partnered with IT to implement SAML federation so MFA could be enforced on cloud access. I also architected the development environment structure so access governance was enforceable by the IT organization rather than held by me. At North Shore Automation, I closed OWASP Top 10 exposure on public-facing infrastructure by hardening NGINX load balancers with rate limiting, strict TLS, and header sanitation.

Infrastructure Reliability & Recovery

Beyond day-to-day delivery, I'm the person teams call when infrastructure breaks in ways that are hard to reverse. I've provisioned production database-driven applications on GCP with automated snapshots and disaster-recovery orchestration, and administered the Atlassian ecosystem (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket) with tested disaster-recovery restores. In my own practice, I designed and operate a private-cloud homelab — a self-hosted hypervisor fleet, Kubernetes cluster, and distributed storage backend — and when a critical failure-domain fault put that storage cluster at risk, I diagnosed and corrected the failure domain, rebuilt the storage backend, and recovered the cluster with zero data loss.

AI-Augmented Engineering Leadership

I direct and review multi-agent engineering workflows in production — delegating implementation to concurrent Claude, Codex, and GitHub Copilot agents, then reviewing and merging their output to a production quality bar. I've also built an agentic web scraper on Playwright, Crawl4AI, and Ollama for structured data extraction with Pydantic-validated outputs — applying the same rigor to AI-assisted tooling that I apply to any other production system.

Independent Technology Leadership

Outside of paid roles, I provide ongoing technology leadership to two Minnesota lake communities. I built the member subscription infrastructure for a lakeshore nonprofit — integrating Stripe with a WordPress front end so it could accept online dues for the first time — then migrated the organization from one-off payments to recurring subscriptions, standing up a member database and onboarding the full membership of ~150 properties onto it. I also secured nonprofit cloud grants that drove hosting costs near zero and implemented multi-cloud disaster recovery and real-time availability monitoring.

How I Operate

I work as a calm systems thinker: communicate early, automate what's repeatable, and keep complexity out of places it doesn't need to be. I document as I go, favor boring and reliable over clever and fragile, and treat identity, access, and policy enforcement as production dependencies rather than afterthoughts.

I'm currently seeking my next platform or DevOps engineering role, ideally one where reliability, automation, and security are valued as much as shipping fast.
